Where's Ed?
Submitted by Ed Ridpath on Sun, 2005-08-07 14:11.Just a note on our family website to let everyone know what's happening with Ed Ridpath, your webmaster and occasional genealogist.
I've recently decided to run for political office. It will use up all my spare time (and then some!). Since many of you have contributed and enjoy using the website, I will leave the site up and running. My response to requests will be greatly reduced, so please be patient and understanding.
My campaign website is now online: www.EdRidpath.com
Thanks and wish me luck!

George Ridpath of Berwickshire: your most illustrious of ancestors
Submitted by chriswiles on Mon, 2007-02-19 13:56. generalHello all. I have some information that might be interesting to those of you who utilize this site and, I hope, some of you may have some very important information for me as well.
At present I am working on my PhD in Cambridge. My topic is the analysis of the political works of George Ridpath, the famous Scottish patriot and political author. George Ridpath was the son of one George Readpath, or Readparth, and the grandson of another relatively important Scottish figure, Thomas Ridpath of Fulfordlees. My information suggests that George Ridpath was born in or around 1665 somewhere in Berwickshire, and lived his early life in 'Cockburnspeth', while other sources have referred to the town of Coldbrandspath.

Henry Redpath
Submitted by julietSA on Thu, 2006-04-13 02:22. generalHi,
I live in South Australia and am trying to find information on my gg-grandfather Henry Redpath. We don't have a lot of information, but know that he was born in 1846 in Scotland and immigrated to Australia between 1866 - 1872. We don't know what ship he travelled on, or if he was a convict, assisted or paying passenger. It was rumoured that he was travelling with his brother(name unknown).
He eventually settled in South Australia as a farmer and married Elizabeth Elliot of Watervale in 1873.
He was buried in September 1887 at Blyth Plains(Kybunga) South Australia.
His father's name was Samual Redpath (mother's name unknown).
Doris and Gerald
Submitted by TONIA ANN on Fri, 2006-02-24 01:36.I am Doris and Gerald Girdner's granddaughter. My grandfather pasted away just before their 52 Wedding celebration and Thanksgiving. My grandmother is taking it the best she can. I just needed needed to let any one who loved or knew them, know that they had a wonderful life together and that though we all miss him very much, I know that he is in Heaven smiling down on all those who loved him. I also wanted to say that he had a wonderful life with my grandmother and that my grandmother though see may be down at times, is the bravest person in the world. She is strong and has faith that God will see her through. I don't know if I could be as she is but I aspire to be. Many prayers, love and support go out to any of those who share in our lost. May God be with you and God bless.
